Fundamentally Sound Philosophy

Fundamentally-Sound is dedicated to teaching youth basketball fundamentals and life's fundamentals on and off the court to help gain a sense of responsibility and self esteem to overcome life's challenges.

Julia A. Smith, founder of Fundamentally-Sound, believes while teaching there should be some nurturing. With that comes positive reinforcement and consequences of decisions children will make on and off the court. Julia's stye of coaching is identical to her style of teaching. creating an environment where it is safe for youth to learn, grow and make mistakes and in turn work hard to fulfill their goals. More importantly they will have fun doing so. Using her expertise in teaching basketball skills, Julia combines physical skill development with life skills and self awareness.
